journey to a remote island camp Climb aboard an airboat and embark on a 40-minute journey into the Florida Everglades. Enjoy a brief voyage to the island where upon arrival you are greeted by tribal architecture, wildlife, and unique plantlife. Everglades islands, also known as hammocks, played a crucial role in the survival and settlement of local tribes in the Everglades.
The islands generally reflect the low-impact nature of tribal society. Handbuilt wooded structures known as "chickees" line the island, built in a style unchanged for centuries. Trails as well as a boardwalk and scenic clearings offer an adventurous guided narration by your captain.
